FAQ

Can Curtain see my bet?

No. Your side and stake are encrypted on your device and only ever opened inside Arcium, and only in sums of whole batches. Today Arcium runs on a permissioned set of 3 nodes; if all 3 colluded they could read bets. Curtain runs none of them.

Then what does anyone see?

The odds board: each market's Yes and No pools, updated one batch at a time. Also that your wallet bet on a market and when, and the amounts you deposit and withdraw. The security page has the full list.

Why does the board not move when I bet?

Because your bet sits in a batch with other bettors' tickets. The board moves when the batch is added up, at the end of its epoch of 1 minute or as soon as all 8 seats fill, and never with fewer than 5 bettors inside.

What decides who wins?

The first Pyth price published at or after the deadline. If that price is at or above the strike, Yes wins. If the feed was late by more than 60 seconds or too uncertain at the deadline, everyone is refunded.

Is this the first private prediction market?

No. Arcium's Benchdot Markets has run confidential hiring markets on Solana mainnet since August 2026 with the same hidden-stake idea. Curtain applies it to general price markets.

Who can pause it?

The authority can pause new bets and new markets. It can never pause settlement, tallies, claims, deposits or withdrawals.
